If you are a commodity trading company that ships goods worldwide, your back-office systems are filled with contracts signed with your counterparties such as suppliers, customers and shipping companies. You want your contracts to be registered as agreements and freight templates. For your logistic planner it’s key that all required information is available before he starts planning. And while planning the execution, the optimum must be found in all commercial, financial and logistical requirements that are registered in the system, right?

You want to have a tool in which the logistic execution can be prepared and the shipments and release orders can be created in the system in one overview. That’s now possible, in Cloud4Commodities.

How does it work?

The release order management form allows the user select the agreement from which the release orders must be created. In the same form the commercially allocated agreements can be filtered and the planned freight templates are displayed. Depending on the company policy, the logistic planner is allowed to overrule the initial planned commercial execution. As a result a logistic operation is created, and depending of the delivery scenario purchase and sales order are released from the agreements to manage the change of ownership of the goods. Depending on the selected freight template(s), one or more transfer orders are created to manage the transport of the goods from one location to the other. All created orders are linked together through the logistic operation which both physical (through a separate tracking dimension) and financial (separate financial dimension) tracks the orders.

So...

The release management feature supports the creation of multiple operations, multiple containers and the addition to an existing operation, giving users full flexibility in the creation of their orders to manage the logistic execution of inbound, outbound and direct scenario’s.

How do you prepare the logistic execution of the registered agreements? In Dynamics 365 Cloud4Commodities we have created a tool in which the logistic execution can be prepared and the shipments and release orders can be created in the system in one overview. And we are re-using standard features of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management to do so.
